Here at Highland Lodge we offer dinner service Thursday- Sunday but  we are lucky enough to be situated in a pocket of amazing local eateries we love supporting. So, if you're not bellying up at our bar, we encourage you to check out some of our incredible neighbors who help comrpise the local food scene. We are happy to give food recommendations upon arrival!

Craftsbury General Store (Craftsbury)

A Craftsbury Staple! The beloved General Store is stocked with amazing local produce, a wide array of natural foods, extensive beer roster, and the best wine selection on this side of the Atlantic. But the real kicker here is their amazing menu of to go sandwiches and salads during the days, and a globally inspired menu of takeout dinners for you to enjoy at home or in a Highland Lodge cabin hot and ready or prepacked for you to reheat at home. Our personal favorite is the Banh- Mi sandwich paired with a refreshing Yerba Mate. On Sundays the General Store offers freshly made donuts from Local Donut LLC!

Craftsbury General Store offers a wide range of grocery and deli goods, including natural and local foods. Wednesday Globetrotting Dinners and Sunday Supper dinner specials offered weekly. Shop in-person or online, you can always call your order in ahead of time and save the wait.

The Cork & Fork

Open Wednesday- Sunday, this cute lil' spot is a beloved new local watering hole. Belly up to the bar and bump elbows with soon to be friends for a great experience. While they do not accept reservations, it's downtown Hardwick so if there is a wait for a table you can walk around or grab a dirnk while you wait!

Blackbird Bistro (Craftsbury)

With a creative cocktail menu and approachable food menu, the bistro menu features a selection of yummy bar food- from poutine and wedge salads to  the bistro’s toasties — special grilled cheese sandwiches — and burgers — beef, chicken and pork. A beautiful interior and a welcoming exterior boast fire pits, Adirondack chairs and picnic tables and on busier nights, their cocktail truck!  Known for mixing up an array of creative cocktails, the master mixologist, Lee, has created a warm and inviting space that we are happy to call the local watering hole. They are open Wednesday through Sunday year-round. Be sure to get there early as they tend to be busy!

Front Seat Coffee Shop (Hardwick)

For a delicious cup of freshly roasted espresso, warm pastries, and/or hot fresh donuts from Local Donut LLC, head to Front Porch Coffee Shop in Hardwick and start your day right!  This locally owned shop is right next door to the best bottle shop in town so you can kill two birds with one stone!

Whetstone Wellness Cafe & Coffee Shop

We LOVE Whetstone Wellness. Their fresh pressed juices, espresso machine, and hot tasty bowls + soups to go are just amazing and so good for your heart and soul.

 

Check their website or facebook for posted hours and drink specials! You can order ahead for pick up as well. If you are feeling real into the self care, make an appointment at their wellness center while you are there. From Spa facials, to massages, to reiki... health is wealth!

Caja Madera

Caja Madera slings the best tacos in Vermont! When they're not posted up at the lodge for Margarita Monday, they are hustling and bustling at their Hardiwick shop. With a full menu of authentic latin flavors- this is surely a stop you do not want to miss. They are an excellent lunch option 5 days a week.

Parker Pie (West Glover)

A true Kingdom Gem, with excellent pizza and pub fare, beer & wine, and events including live music and movie nights. The Parker Pie Co. started as a small pizza shop in the back of the Lake Parker Country Store. While it is still a little pizza shop in the back of a country store, the quality of the food and the community atmosphere has turned it into a favorite eatery and pub for locals and seasonal clientele alike. The Parker Pie Co. is a foodie destination not to be missed. In addition to the famous pizza, their revolving beer menu features both Vermont brews and the best fermented beverages from around the globe. Grab a 'za to go and enjoy at your cabin or pull up a seat at their bar and enjoy a brew or two. The outdoor seating area is charming and great for spreading out with large groups and/or kids!
